NetFlow Charting Widgets

Top  Previous  Next

One of the most common NetFlow-usage patterns is statistical charting. This includes selecting a subset of overall NetFlow traffic statistics, aggregating and summarizing it in a certain way and then representing as a chart. AggreGate Network Manager implements this pattern with NetFlow charting widgets.

A NetFlow charting widget fetches NetFlow data and visualizes it using a chart. The charting widgets are built from NetFlow views. This can be done by invoking Create NetFlow Widget action from Widgets (widgets) context: just right-click the Widgets context and select Create NetFlow Widget from the context menu.

A NetFlow view describes how to fetch source data and provides some other widget parameters as described in NetFlow Configuration section. As described there few NetFlow views are available out of box; users can modify those views or add custom ones using NetFlow plugin configuration.

The charting widget built using a view can be customized. For example, user can change the type of chart used to represent NetFlow statistics, or alter chart's appearance.
