Monitoring Folders

Top

Folder monitoring is provided by Local Folder Driver which is a part of AggreGate Network Manager. It allows to monitor folders located on the server providing the options to:

Check the existence of the folder at the specified path on the server
Acquire folder attributes, namely:
oLast modification time
oFile count
oSize (as total size of the files in the folder)
Load and inspect folder contents as a list of its items (files and subfolders)

The contents of a folder can be analyzed recursively, or limited to the items contained directly in the monitored folder. Besides that, the items to be processed can be filtered using wildcard or regular expression.

The network management tasks which can be solved using Folder Monitoring include:

Tracking presence or absence of a particular folder as an indicator of some event on the monitored host.
Monitoring availability of a service or an application by tracking last modification time and/or other attributes of a specific folder.
Remotely analyzing application output or application activity by inspecting folder contents.
