Home Solutions Network Management Features
|
This list includes only some of the features relevant to network management. A full list is available under features.
System Core
- Common Scalable Architecture. AggreGate Network Manager is based on AggreGate Device Management Platform that provides unique abilities for configuring, controlling and monitoring different devices and processing device data.
- Building/Facility Control Center. Integration with other building/facility management systems within a single AggreGate installation, including Time and Attendance Control, Security and Access Control, HVAC/Lightning Management, etc.
- Advanced Customization Capabilities. Alerts, reports, scripts, charts, and other resources related to network management are not hardcoded into the application. They are based on raw device data processing tools built into AggreGate core and may be fully customized, cloned or partially replicated, grouped for batch editing, etc.
- User Permissions Management. Hierarchical multi-user environment with comprehensive role-based access control permissions.
- Multiple User Interfaces. A secure GUI client is available, along with a legacy AJAX-based web client.
- Automatic and Interactive Operation. The system may function in fully automatic mode, allowing the server to make all decisions and notify administrators only in the case of some problems. Another choice is interactive mode which assumes that operators are constantly monitoring the network using client software.
Network Monitoring
- Network Discovery. AggreGate Network manager discovers your network using SNMP, ICMP, TCP port scanning, and other methods. Discovery may be scheduled for periodic execution.
- Dynamic Network Maps. Every mapped device is shown as a resizable colorized icon indicating device type and status. Critical device parameters are also visible on the map.
- Availability and Performance Monitoring. Real-time monitoring of latency/response time, availability/packet loss, quality of service, etc. Automated route tracing and analyzing. Device downtime and outage statistics.
- Server Monitoring. Remote monitoring of CPU load, disk space usage, running services, and other parameters of servers running under any operating system.
- Router and Switch Monitoring. Bandwidth utilization and traffic monitoring for network interfaces of routers and switches. Automatic reading and server-side caching of all available SNMP data from any device according to the loaded MIB files.
- Application Monitoring. Built-in drivers for "smart" monitoring of many applications including HTTP Web Servers, POP3/IMAP/SMTP Mail Servers, SSH, DNS, FTP, and more. Monitoring of generic TCP service availability and response time.
- Database Monitoring. Remote monitoring of any database server (Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc). Checking server availability, executing custom queries and matching query results against specific criteria (field/row count, field values, etc.).
- Environment Monitoring. Monitoring of temperature, humidity, water flooding, smoke, motion, and air flow in control rooms and data centres using sensors of any types.
- Agent-less Monitoring. AggreGate monitors the network without any agents, so there is no additional software or hardware to install on devices that need monitoring.
- Distributed Monitoring. AggreGate Client software is designed to process data coming from several servers located in different parts of a large network. Enterprises may benefit from centralized monitoring of different branches from IT headquaters.
- Data Caching. AggreGate Network Manager constantly polls all configured devices and caches their configuration in a server-side database for quick access by other system facilities.
- Fine-grained Polling Control. Polling period, update history storage time and many other options are configured individually for every monitored parameter.
- SNMP Trap Handling. All SNMP traps are received by the server and logged. Every trap is converted into a system event and therefore may be browsed in Event Log, acknowledged, used for triggering alerts, etc.
- Syslog and Windows Event Log consolidation. Built-in syslog server collects syslog messages from remote unix machines and converts them to AggreGate events. Windows event log messages are processed in the same way as SNMP traps.
- Real-time Event Monitoring. Alerts, SNMP traps, SysLog and Windows Event Log messages, changes in device status/configuration and communication issues are available as system events of different levels. Different rules for sorting, filtering and highlighting events are supported. Events are divided into multiple levels and categories. Highly configurable event history storage and auto-purge.
- Event Filtering. Real-time and historical events may be browsed using an advanced Event Log component. Filtering events by date, source, type, and level. Filter expressions for fine-grained filtering.
- Advanced Alerting. Alerts may be trigged by any system event, for example when an SNMP trap satisfying a certain condition is received or a monitored setting of a server/router is out of range. Every alert may have unlimited expression-based triggers. Alert notifications include immediate operator notification using popup window and sound, e-mail and SMS notifications and other methods. Pending alerts and alert escalation are also supported. Alert-to-action bindings allow automatic execution of corrective actions in interactive or non-interactive modes when an alert is raised. Distribution package includes a set of built-in fully configurable charts, such as High Packet Loss Rate, Low Disk Space/Memory, etc.
- Trackers. Trackers are used for monitoring mission-critical data. Every tracker has an unlimited number of user-defined states, indicated by color highlighting.
Network Management And Supervision
|
- Remote Script Execution. Executing custom scripts on remote machines over a secure SSH connection allow acquisition of non-standard data and execution of different actions (e.g. rebooting the servers).
- Preconfigured Device Templates. Recommended set of monitored parameters and polling intervals is set up automatically for every new device.
- Support for all versions of SNMP protocol. AggreGate supports all versions of SNMP including secure SNMP v3. This allows managing and monitoring heterogeneous multivendor networks.
- MIB Database. Integrated MIB database initially includes hundreds of MIB files that are common to IP network management, while an unlimited number of new MIBs may be added.
- Delayed configuration. Configuration of managed SNMP devices may be viewed and changed even if the device is offline. Changes will be written to the device once it become available.
- Reporting. Advanced reporting facility, built-in report editor, report printing and exporting in different formats. Automatic report generation from any viewed/edited data. Scheduled report emailing. Built-in reports for availability, response time, CPU load, disk usage, traffic statistics, and more.
- Charting. Support for a wide list of chart types, including dynamically updated charts. Pre-defined fully customizable charts for monitoring server CPU load and disk space usage, router traffic, etc.
- Query Language. Integrated SQL-based query language for data mining and batch configuration updates. Build-in configurable queries for collecting, sorting, filtering and grouping various network performance parameters. Pre-defined queries for different network monitoring tasks.
- Scheduled Tasks. Advanced job scheduler for periodic execution of any device-related or system actions.
- Grouping. Grouping and group operations are available for SNMP devices. Groups may include devices of different manufacturers.
- Configuration Replication. Advanced replication of configuration between SNMP devices. Configuration may be copied even between different devices having same SNMP settings (OIDs).
Other Features
|
- Widgets and GUI Builder. Widgets feature allow creating custom GUI components to configure and monitor your network devices. Integrated GUI Builder application to create your widgets from scratch in WYSIWYG mode.
- Dashboards. Widgets may be combined into a dashboard to provide quick and convenient access to system-critical parameters.
- Custom Properties and Master Settings. Common data tables store any custom data in a user defined format. System-wide or user’s personal common tables may contain master-copies of device settings that are used to configure multiple devices. Another use is associating common tables with devices and system objects to form their custom properties.
